SOUTH GLENGARRY – A Glengarry County farmer died Sept. 6 when he was thrown from a tractor while hauling a load of square baled hay on Concession Road 8.

The police investigation revealed that the tractor’s front forks abruptly caught the pavement as Roger Leblanc, 69, was driving along the road, causing Leblanc to lose control, and be thrown from the vehicle.

The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., near Green Valley in South Glengarry Township. Leblanc was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital.

Leblanc is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita D’aoust, four children and their spouses, as well as nine grandchildren.
