Sap finally flowing

Local maple syrup producers have started collecting sap and boiling in the third week of March, albeit about two weeks behind the average year according to syrup producer Richard MacMillan. The weather has been a challenge for maple syrup producers and some fear it may be a short season due to the fact the later it remains cold the faster it will warm up. Moore photo
