AVONMORE – David Phillips of Avonmore Berry farm has died. He passed away on June 4. He was 56 years old.

He suffered from pulmonary fibrosis an inherited disease.

David worked with his wife Pamela managing the farm they took over from his parents in 1991.

The couple have three grown children: Alex, Megan and Andrew.

Both David and Pamela were active in the community and in 2019 were recognized for their agricultural efforts and expertise with the Stormont Soil and Crop Improvement Associations’ Farmer of the Year Award.

Avonmore Berry Farm has evolved into a destination for people looking for fun, food and the experience of picking their own berries, and at the same time have an informative and friendly farm outing.

Many in the agriculture community have praised David and Pamela for their dedication to elevating effective farm practices and sharing their love of good food and a refreshing farming experience with everyone.
