CANADA – The following are the six organizations that have been selected to administer the $30 million in funding the federal government has made to advance clean technology in Canadian Agriculture.
Bioenterprise Canada
Based in Guelph, Ont., Bioenterprise works to connect innovators, investors and industry partners within Canada’s agri-food sector. The organization focuses on helping bridge the gap between research and commercialization while supporting entrepreneurs and emerging technologies.
Canadian Agri-Food Automation and Intelligence Network
Headquartered in Edmonton, Alta., the Canadian Agri-Food Automation and Intelligence Network (CAAIN) supports development of data-driven agricultural technologies through industry competitions, networking opportunities and collaboration initiatives.
Canadian Food Innovation Network
Located in Guelph, Ont., the Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN) promotes collaboration and innovation within Canada’s food and beverage sector, with a focus on developing new technologies and business opportunities.
MaRS Discovery District
Based in Toronto, MaRS Discovery District provides mentorship, networking, talent development and access to capital for emerging businesses and technology innovators across several sectors, including agriculture and clean technology.
Ontario Genomics
Ontario Genomics, headquartered in Toronto, supports collaborative genomics research and innovation with goals tied to improving health, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Zone Agtech
Based in L’Assomption, Que., Zone Agtech supports startups and entrepreneurs developing technologies intended to address challenges in agriculture and agri-food production through research, development and commercialization support.
