NORTH GOWER – North Gower Grains was the first stop on the September tour during the Agriculture Experience Week at Algonquin College. The first class of the Business Agriculture program launched at the Perth campus of Algonquin College had four days of out-of-the-classroom events.

Dwight Foster of North Gower Grains shared his knowledge of safety, growing crops, managing a grain elevator, and feedlot.  Foster congratulated the students as they prepare to become the future of agriculture.

The group finished the day with a tour of the dairy operation and biodigester at the Schouten family’s Corner View Farms, in Richmond, Ont.

Jessica Schouten discussed with the students the challenges faced in agriculture with the lack of available labour.
