OTTAWA – The Carleton County Junior Farmers are pleased to be offering a $1,000 scholarship to an active 4-H member who is planning to attend a Canadian College or University in the 2025-2026 school year.
Much like 4-H, Junior Farmers is an organization based on community involvement and developing leaders. They are part of the larger Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario (JFAO) system, which has a history stretching back over 90 years in Ontario. Carleton’s club is a local chapter within the broader JFAO network.
The Carleton County Junior Farmers aim to build rural leaders through personal growth, travel, experiences and community betterment by connecting our rural youth to develop leaders for stronger communities. 4-H uses the “head, heart, hands and health” motto to create well rounded youth and positive contributors to the world. They want to know how the things you’ve learned in 4-H have prepared you to excel in post-secondary education.
Entry requirements:
- Must be a current 4-H participant
- Attending a Canadian College or University in the 2025-2026 school year (does not have to be an Agricultural based program, can be entering into any year of post-secondary)
- Write a 1–2-page essay about: “How 4-H has shaped and prepared me for post-secondary education”
- Applications must be submitted to carletonjuniorfarmers@gmail.com by June 30, 2025
The scholarship is open to whole province. The successful applicant does not need to be from Carleton County.
You can find information on this scholarship and others on the Ontario 4-H website (4-hontario.ca), but don’t delay, many of the programs have deadlines which are fast approaching.
