NORTH STORMONT – North Stormont resident Alyssa Waldroff received the 2022 Rose Award for Outstanding Retiring Member of the Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario (JFAO) during their 2023 AGM held in Kitchener, Ontario,  between March 24 and 26.

There are three categories in which the JFAO Rose Award is presented: Outstanding Novice Member; Most Outstanding Member and Outstanding Retiring Member according to information on the organization’s social media pages and are presented “as a way we can say thank you for everything they do.”

“With the help of other members, we revived the Junior Farmers in the area by starting up the Stormont-Glengarry Junior Farmers in 2017. I have since served as president, past president and most recently the secretary and provincial director for 2022,” said Waldroff who served on the leadership committee and is serving as the 4-H representative for JFAO in 2022. She is also active in the Stormont County 4-H and currently serves as the awards’ coordinator and first vice president of the club, as well as being a Cloverbud leader.

“It was a true honour to be presented with this award. I am so grateful to Junior Farmers for bringing so many amazing people into my life. I’m sad to be leaving such a great organization but know that this won’t be the last of the memories we make together,” commented Waldroff.
