Would you like to increase the level of stewardship you practice on your farm? Is it located within the Raisin River Conservation Authority watershed? Then the Agri-Action Land Stewardship program might be just what you are looking for.

The Raisin River Conservation Authority (RRCA) is offering funding to farmers looking to establish, manage, or receive advice on agricultural stewardship best management practices (BMPs) on their land. The funding, by way of a grant application, is open to all farmers with a registered farm number located within the RRCA’s watershed jurisdiction.

Funding is available for several different project types, including:

  • In-field or bank erosion control
  • Drainage and wetland integration
  • Hedgerows or windbreaks
  • Buffers
  • Cover crops
  • Grassed waterways
  • Delayed cut hay
  • Grassland stewardship
  • Controlled tile drainage
  • Agronomic tools and soil sampling
  • Farm Health Check-up

Funding may be available up to 90 percent of project costs and can vary depending on project types or locations. There is no cost to apply, and the application can be accessed through the RRCA’s website.

If you would like more information on the Agri-Action Land Stewardship Program, or assistance in completing the form, you can contact Jessica Herrington, Raisin Region Conservation Authority Stewardship Coordinator through email at Jessica.Herrington@rrca.on.ca, or by phone at (613) 938-3611 ext. 228.

The Agri-Action Advisory Land Stewardship Program has received funding support from the Government of Ontario, as well as Environment and Climate Change Canada.
