FINCH – During the banquet following the 2023 Stormont Plowing Match (SPM) on Oct. 7, Haleigh-Jo TePlate was crowned 2024 Stormont County Queen of the Furrow.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to become Stormont County Queen of the Furrow” said TePlate, before continuing how her experience as a Stormont County Princess of the Furrow provided her with “many valuable lessons.”
“And it helped prepare myself to compete for Queen when I was old enough to do so.”
Besides attending the 2024 IPM being held in Lindsay, Ontario, she is looking forward to representing her county at events and “meeting new people, making new friends, and experiencing new adventures.”
TePlate thanked the Stormont Plowmens Association for the opportunity to serve as the SC Queen of the Furrow, with a special note of thanks to SPA president Kelsey Smith and SPA secretary Alyssa Waldroff.
