BOSTON – Gordon Brothers, a global asset management company has announced that store closing sales are underway at all 93 Peavey Mart locations in Canada.

In a media release dated Jan. 29, 2025, it was reported that the Canadian farm and ranch retailer is offering up to 30 per cent off the original ticketed price on all agriculture, farm and ranch, work wear, lawn and garden, hardware and homesteading supplies and merchandise.

“Peavey Mart has long been a staple in communities throughout Canada and is the go-to retailer for agricultural and home improvement supplies,” said Durien Sanchez, Managing Director, Retail at Gordon Brothers. “With the announcement of the closing sales, supplies are expected to sell out fast, and we encourage customers to shop early for the best selection due to the immense popularity of these stores.”

Apparently not quite popular enough, it would seem.

The discounts will apply at retail stores. All sales are final during the store closing event.

Earlier this week, Peavey Industries sought and obtained an Initial Order for creditor protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act from the Court of King’s Bench Alberta. The company had recently announced closures of 22 stores in Ontario and Nova Scotia prior to beginning store closing sales at all remaining locations across Canada.

In a press release dated Jan. 21, Peavey Industries LP president Doug Anderson referred to issues experienced by the Canadian retail sector. “The Canadian retail environment has faced significant disruption over recent years,” said Anderson, “And Peavey has not been immune to these challenges. We recognize that difficult decisions like these are necessary to create a more stable foundation for the long-term success of our business. While this is a step forward, it’s part of an ongoing process to adapt and rebuild in response to changing market dynamics.”

In eastern Ontario, Peavey Mart locations include Kemptville, Smiths Falls, Brockville, Cornwall, Arnprior, Kingston, Pembroke, and Belleville.

Peavey Industries LP purchased TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) in 2016 and converted its stores to the Peavey brand by 2020. Peavey is based in Red Deer, Alta.
