RUSSELL – On Sun., July 14, young Jersey enthusiasts and their families gathered in Russell at the fairgrounds for the annual St. Lawrence Valley Jersey Club’s Youth Rally. After a pot-luck lunch, attendees had a short showmanship clinic before a group photo. Thirty-nine young people gathered to compete in this event. Judge Patricia Fontaine from Rang Saint-Joachim in Mirabel had the task of judging for the day. The Pee-Wee costume class was popular again this year, giving pee wee entrants the opportunity to display their creativeness with outfitting their calves.

At the conclusion of the show, our Jersey Ambassador was announced, congratulations to Emma Hess. Winner of the Herdsperson Award was Addison Quaile. A special presentation of recognition was given to Ria Elshof for 13 years of serving as the Club’s secretary/treasurer.
