Sylvain Boyer is the new general manager of Uniag Cooperative and Sollio & Uniag Agriculture Cooperative

NAPIERVILLE – Uniag Cooperative and Sollio & Uniag Agriculture Cooperative announced on July 27 that Sylvain Boyer will take on the role of general manager of Uniag Cooperative and Sollio & Uniag Agriculture Cooperative. Boyer will officially take office on Aug. 20.

He is originally from Vaudreuil-Dorion, and grew up on a family dairy farm, which became Ferme Vaudal in 1991. He and his family were awarded the title of Farm Family of the Year by the Farm Family Foundation in 2019.

Boyer was initially a consultant in crop and animal production at La Coop Excel, Unicoop and La Coop Seigneurie. Boyer became the senior director for the ruminant department at Sollio Agriculture, formerly La Coop Fédérée. He had worked there for 15 years.

Boyer joined the Centre d’insémination artificielle du Québec (CIAQ) as director of producer services and then as director of network and partnerships for the past eight years. By this time in his career, he had accumulated 25 years of experience with the cooperative network.

As a resident of Rigaud, in the heart of Uniag’s territory, Boyer already feels a strong sense of belonging to the cooperative.

He said, “For me, it’s a return to my roots, he says. I feel like I’m coming home after a long journey.”
