The Eastern Ontario AgriNews will profile one of the many Eastern Ontario women in agriculture. From farmer to agribusiness professional and everywhere in between, women play a major role in agriculture.
This edition of the Eastern Ontario AgriNews profile is highlighting Renfrew local, Emily Bromley. Bromley is a third-generation cow/calf Charolais beef farmer on her family’s farm called Fondoak Farm with her grandma and father. Along with farming, she is an assistant feed nutrition representative with MacEwen Agricentre at their location in Cobden.
Bromley is passionate about agriculture and truly shows her love for both the animal and crop parts of the industry. She loves farming with her family and showing beef cattle across Ontario and Western Canada. Her passion for agriculture continues to show through her off-farm job working in both the animal and crop divisions. During the busy spring season, you can find Emily blending fertilizer!
Throughout her youth, Bromley completed many 4-H projects. For four years, she led the Renfrew County Beef 4-H Club and for one year she led the Renfrew County Dog Agility 4-H Club.
Bromley is proud to be involved in agriculture. Every year she looks forward to winter calving when all the hard work, decisions made, and passion for genetics come to fruition. Further to this proud moment, Bromley loves having her nephews visit the farm and see how excited they are to also be involved!
